Great food and service! You must get the escargot here and the fish with vanilla sauce. Staff here gladly recommends wines to go with your meal and they were great recommendations. Will come here again when I visit Paris!

Le Petit Pontoise was a fabulous first meal in Paris. My friend and I walked in with a reservation and were instantly greeted and seated. It's a small restaurant, and most of the clientele were also American. We decided on a bottle of wine and escargots to start. The escargots were probably my favorite throughout the entire trip - they were served in a little pot instead of the traditional presentation. The table bread was also delicious. For entrees, we ordered the sea bass with vanilla sauce and the lamb. Both were absolutely incredible and cooked perfectly. The vanilla sauce was different and a little sweet for my taste, but it was a welcome change to a typically more savory dish. Highly recommend this place!

My absolute FAVORITE restaurant in Paris! Whenever I hear anyone is taking a trip to Paris, I tell them they must dine at Le Petit Pointoise!
Twice, I've been lucky enough to score a table without reservations. The first time, we arrived right when the restaurant opened for dinner. The second time, we hit the tail end of dinner service and they were nice enough to seat us. Don't chance it! Make your reservations in advance!
Everything I've had here has been phenomenal. I don't think there is a dish on the menu that isn't good. The highlight, believe it or not, was their beet mille feuille. Such simple ingredients, yet they are a flavor explosion in your mouth! We've tried to replicate this at home, but to no avail.
Time's a wastin'! Dine at Le Petite Pointoise and you'll be so glad you did. -

two years later i'm back. it felt so familiar which is always comforting. Ana and Sara are still there. pig cheek was on the menu. like to explore menus but not at expense of passing on this excellent plat principal. the entree also superb. lively group of diners made for a most pleasant evening. if i visit Paris again, dinner at. Le Petit Pontoise is a must.

We were lucky to get a small table in a small restaurant early (17.50 local time) with a little help from our hotel. I wanted to try something different, so I ordered frog legs with a salad and mashed potatoes - my wife had duck breast with vegetables, and we shared our meals with each other. The food was very good, although the frog legs were smaller than their American cousins I had eaten before. Lots of bones, too little meat, but wonderful taste. the mashed potatoes were perfectly prepared and I enjoyed the duck and fresh vegetables as well.
We found the service to be helpful and friendly, the cooks worked efficiently and professionally - very clean kitchen. I would recommend and would likely return if there weren't so dang many good restaurants around us to try...
